33rd Boat Show: An Optimistic Curtain Draw

Surpassed expectations amidst the downturn

This year's Boat Show that took place at the Metropolitan Expo from the 15th to the 23rd of October was successfully concluded, as it surpassed the expectations of exhibitors and organizers alike.
The 33rd Boat Show proved once again that ‘boat & sea' make an irresistible combination, always at the forefront of people's preference, the people who offered their support to the institution despite the ‘difficult' following week in terms of economy. The organizers dared to stand their ground in difficult economical times and asserted the sector's presence and dynamic output, sharing an optimistic view with the visiting public.

The Boat Show has been organized for 33 full years, acting as a barometer for the market of boats and related services. Sector professionals greeted visitors by presenting a multitude of new motor powered and inflatable boats, sailboats, outboard motors and paraphernalia fabricated by Greek and International contractors, as well as merchants.

Visitors themselves shared their opinion saying that the exhibition went surprisingly well', attendees were purely interested, contacts were made, deals were closed and the clear benefit, as everyone conclude, will be evident in the next few months.

'We are very happy with the result. It is a 33 year old institution, and we couldn't have been absent. Visitors have more need of us this year, as we meke people happy with boats and sea' said Mr. Alexandros Zeis, Secretary of SEKAPLAS, while the President of SEKAPLAS Mr. Perimenis Ilias, declared that ‘important contacts took place, contacts that we couldn't have made from our office, as buyers were willing to see and buy boats and paraphernalia, with their actions speaking of their interest in the market sector'.

"The exhibition was more than we had expected», declared Mr. Perimenis ‘the number of visitors may have been somewhat smaller than last year's, however the level of interest was much higher than what we anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise".

The Greek naval exhibition was successfully organized, producing many smiles of optimism to exhibitors and visitors, continuing to forward the most important sectors of greek economy and culture in the best possible way.

The fast growing market of underwater diving maintained a strong presence in the exhibition with a large number of diving centres and equipment companies, hosting various presentations and other happenings.
